2017 Lookback
2017 Lookback I wouldn’t want to live it again, but I’m thankful for it. When 2017 started, I had a 40-hour-a-week corporate job and I
I could write a book (or a blog) about making the best out of a life that is nothing like you thought it would be. The life I thought I would have involved a husband, a house, and some kids. I thought that it was those things that would bring me fulfillment and happiness. Unfortunately, that life quickly faded when my husband had an affair and a child without me. It was then, as I was going through divorce, that my new mantra became “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”
I’m now almost 40 and my life continues to be nothing like I thought it would be, but . . . I’m happy (go figure). And after losing my job and starting a business of my own, I think that maybe, just maybe, it’s okay that my life veered off course. I have time to take classes to learn random, awesome stuff (soapmaking, watercolor, etc.). I read books whenever the mood strikes. I listen to podcasts (some with a plethora of curse words). I’m making my unplanned life a life that brings me a new sense of fulfillment! Come along for the ride.
