A Taxidermy Christmas? It May Have to be Just That!

I was minding my own business and checking my email when I get this in my inbox from The Bloggess, Jenny Lawson (www.thebloggess.com).

If you aren’t familiar with her, check out my first post on this topic by clicking here. I swear that she is my long-lost sister from another mister.

So, like I said, I was just minding my own business checking my email when her email comes through and who can resist clicking on McDonald’s is stealing my dead weasel and it is insultingly obvious. I sure can’t. She hooked me at “dead” and started reeling me in at “weasel.”  I’m not sure if everyone would be as riveted by this as I am. For me, it’s like when my dogs are outside trying to do their “business” and they suddenly see a squirrel running along the top of our fence. That is about as completely irrational as I am when I get an intriguing title like that delivered to my inbox. So, I click without hesitation and up pops this blog post, which includes a picture from her Instagram post.

So now, here I am, having wasted about an hour now giggling, reading her post, and then writing this post. Forget writers block, all I have to do to get inspired is read something from her.

The fact that I am so transfixed by this is a little unexpected. I can’t stress how much I dislike anything that has to do with dead or injured animals. I can’t even watch the ASPCA commercial, much to my boyfriend John’s chagrin. (I always make him change the channel or I start singing really loud with my eyes closed to distract myself.) Anyway, I can’t quite reconcile how I can be that way, but yet find these taxidermy animals so freakin’ funny. I think it is the conversations that she has around them or something, but I just can’t get enough.

Anyway, here is Jenny Lawson’s original post on Juanita the Weasel. I love the banter between her and her hubby, Victor. I can so relate.

I really think that I need to put a taxidermy rodent on my christmas list this year. Santa, please? I’ve been really good . . .!
